Clare R. Baltazar- Filipino Scientist

 

Dr. Baltazar has consistently maintained outstandingly high standards of achievement throughout her academic life. Her numerous publications on Philippine insects especially on the Philippine Hymenoptera are very significant to science for they lay the groundwork for future biological control in the Philippines. Her book Philippine Insects is the first authoritative text on Philippine insects. Other important contributions of Dr. Baltazar to science are the discoveries of 8 and one subgenus of Hymenoptera and 108 new species of the Philippine parasitic wasps.

 

For these achievement, Dr. Baltazar is well recognized here and abroad. In 1980, she received the Rizal Pro Patria Award in entomology.

Huwag kumain sa fast food pagmalapit na ang closing time?

Marami na akong nababasa sa net tungkol sa mga istorya ng mga crew ng fast food na kung saan kapag closing time na at may mabait na customer na umoorder pa medyo marami na silang “extra” na inilalagay sa pagkain. Ang “extra” na sinasabi ko ay mga unhygienic things and i will leave it to your imagination na lang.

So, bakit ba nila ito ginagawa? Dahil ayaw nila mahuli ng uwi, dahil ang duty ng closing time ay walang overtime pay. At dahil umorder ka, matatagalan pa ang kanilang paglilinis at magwowork sila ng extra without pay.

Kung hindi makatiis at gustong kumain sa fast food as much as possible dun kayo umoorder sa lugar na kung saan kitang kita ang kitchen. Para makita nyo pano iprepare ang inyong pagkain.

Para naman sa fast food establishment kung legal naman ang issue at late sila nagclose, why not pay them for the overtime.

Whistle

Whistle! is about a boy named Shō Kazamatsuri. He transfers from Musashinomori School to Sakura Josui junior High School for better hopes to make the soccer team, since he never got a game at his old school due to his small stature. Yūko Katori, his teacher, introduces him as a former star of the famed Musashinomori team, causing his classmates to be wrongly ecstatic. Right after that, one of the players, Tatsuya Mizuno, reveals that he was never a regular. In other words, since he never got the chance to play, Shō is a poor player. Shō struggles to improve his skill so he can make the team at his new school and to ignore the drastic disadvantage he has due to his height.
