John Usita to Brgy Ginebra

As if Greg Slaughter is not enough Barangay Ginebra added height to their draft pick, John Usita  6 feet 8 inches  behometh weighing around 300 pounds. If he will be in the rotation of Ginebra they will have the biggest frontline, Greg Slaughter, Aguilar and Usita.

John Usita’s age would be a double edge sword either he is old enough to the point that you could only ask a few years of service or old enough to have a good basketball IQ / basketball maturity.

If rumor that Taulava will also join them is true then a championship trophy is just around the corner

James Forrester 4th draft pick of Ginebra

The previous rumor was slightly true, the 4th round pick of Red Bull was traded to Ginebra not for Labagala but instead for Rico Maierhofer and Willy Wilson.  It’s a surprise that Ginebra pick James Forrester although he have a built ready to bang bodies with the Pro’s his shooting touch is not that consistent. He will really hurt you when he finds his rhythm but he is non-existent in his off days… In a good note he could replace Willy Wilson as a enforcer…

How the ultimate warrior died?

During the late 80’s aside from basketball, watching wrestling is a favorite past time for Pilipino’s. The main reasons are because of Hulk Hogan, Andrea the Giant, and Randy Savage, we idolized them. During that era out of nowhere a hefty full of energy athlete with full of face paint  have been catapulted to stardom and his name is the Ultimate warrior. One fight that cemented his name as a superstar was during a wrestling match with Hercules. Hercules is a big guy who carries a big chain as a prop and a tug of war with this chain commenced between the two and the chain snapped due to the brute force of the two wrestler. Monfort traded to Ginebra for Labagala and 4th draft pick

The trade seems to be one sided  but still it was approved by the board of the PBA.  The next question will be who will Ginebra pick? Rumors have it that Helterbrand is thinking of retirement  in the near future so probably a shooting guard is the most likely candidate. Jeric Teng is a good candidate. The starting five would then be: Slaughter, Ellis, Caguio, Teng and Tenorio. Second Unit would be Aguilar, Reyes, Baracael, Urbiztondo and Monfort. Ryan Beunafe is also a good candidate a little slower for the run and gun style but being hefty is also an advantage  especially in a team like Ginebra which luck muscles especially since the retirement of the H bomb Rudy Hatfield.  Lastly, i think  Jeff Vidal’s shooting hands is a good addition for BGK.

As a fan i hope BGK pick Jeric Teng for the simple reason that in the near future pick Jeron Teng  so you will have another siblings playing along side under BGK, remember chito and joey the loyzaga brothers…
