Isinusulong ng Filipino Inventors Society (FIS) sa senado ang pagkakaroon ng taunang parangal sa mga natatanging Filipino Inventor sa pamamagitan ng “Inventor of the Year Awards”.
Ito ang ipinahayag ni FIS Luzon Chapter Vice-President Manuel R. Dono, sa naganap na General Membership Meeting and Annual Assembly ng grupo noong nakaraang buwan sa Deparatment of Science and Technology (DOST) Executive Lounge, Dost Compound, Lungsod ng Taguig.
Ang FIS ay isa sa pinakamatandang organisasyong kinikilala ng pamahalaan at sinusuportahan ng DOST sa pamamagitan ng Technological Application and Promotion Institute, isang ahensya sa ilalim ng DOST. Sinimulan na ng organisasyon ang proseso ng pagpili ng kauna-unahang imbentor na pararangalan paras sa taong ito. “ We would want to monitor the progress of the inventions of all inventors who would want to vie for the honourable slot given to any inventor for that matter,” pahayag ni Dono. Dahil malaki ang maibabahagi ng mga imbensyon sa ekonomiya ng bansa, target ngayon ng Department of Science and Technology sa pamamagitan ng Technology Application and Promotion Institute (DOST-TAPI) ang 100 patent application sa buong taon.
Ayon kay DOST Secretary Mario G. Montejo, “we are continuously looking for better ways to serve our clientele, including inventors,” kaya naman ang DOST ay naglaan ng iba’t ibang tulong sa mga local na imbentor upang madala sa merkado at mapakinabangan ang mga imbensyon.

Is it possible to run a car by using air alone? Well, as per the video above you still need a liter or gallon of gasoline to run a compressed air car. But compared to the current all gasoline car this is a huge savings!
Watch and learn! And for the Filipino inventors, hope you could invent one that runs in pure air. I remember in one talk show in ANC they have interviewed an inventor who is currently working on a generator that runs on pure air. So, maybe the technology could be adapted to a car.
Dr. Escuro has made significant contributions to rice breeding, as plant breeder, Professor, extension worker, and consultant in agricultural projects. He provided leadership in the development, isolation, and release of nine seed board rice varieties: Milpal 4, HBD-2, Azmil 26 and C-22 (up-land) and C-18, C4-63, C4-137, C-168 and C-12 (lowland).
Dr. escuro has 18 honors and awards to his name. these include two Presidential awards, Presidential Plaque of Merit for outstanding accomplishment in rice improvement (1967) and Rizal Pro Patriac award for outstanding contribution to rice breeding and genetics. He is also recipient of the University of the Philippines Distinguished Professional award in agriculture (1973), and D. Sc. (honoris causa 1974) and the 1974 Ayala award in agricultural science.
