How i fixed my KERNEL_DATA_INPAGE_ERROR

I bought a new computer cpu at a pc store at Mall of Asia. After 3 months I am experiencing problems with it not just any problem but the dreaded Blue screen of death , BSOD. The BSOD error is “KERNEL_DATA_INPAGE_ERROR” . I tried updating the bios of my motherboard which is an ASUS BM-E but still to no avail the BSOD is still there and the message is still ”KERNEL_DATA_INPAGE_ERROR”. Opening the CPU and I have nothing that the board is overheating . I remove the hard disk and I ended up bringing the cpu unit without the hard disk to the store where I brought it. There is two variable in my problem, either the problem is a faulty hard disk or a faulty motherboard.

In the pc store they stress test the cpu using a software called Burnin Test and to my surprise the cpu passed all aspect of the stress test and I tried to touch the motherboard and it is as cool as ice. So, I asked the store technician if my hard disk is the problem. He replied if the hard disk is new then it is possible that a faulty installation is the problem , he even added that if I had brought the hard disk then they can test it also to rule out possible problems.
Went home with my cpu installed the hard disk , reformatted it and reinstalled my windows OS. After a few days the Blue Screen of Death ”KERNEL_DATA_INPAGE_ERROR”. Out of desperation and lack of any idea I decided to change my installer. I upgraded to windows 8 and since then I have no BSOD ”KERNEL_DATA_INPAGE_ERROR”. It is possible that may old installer is already corrupted .
So lesson from this experience… Overheating and BSOD or blue screen of death doesn’t always mean a hardware problem it could also be a software related problem.
