Marigold’s scientific name is Tagetes erecta Linn. commonly it is called as Ahito and Amarillo in the Philippines. It is a good source of lutein, Roots can be use as laxative. The decoction of the plant is good for rheumatic pain, bronchitis a nd colds. Leaves can be used as an application for boils and carbuncle. Flowers are good for ulcers. Infusion of flowers and leaves have antihelmentic properties.
