If you are into arcade game the word “JAMMA” is essential to your life… JAMMA is an acronym which means Japan Amusement Machinery Manufacturers Association, the JAMMA harness is a standardized layout of wiring /connection for arcades. This system enables manufacturer to cut down the price for manufacturing arcade games because most will be built the same way, the parts and component would be generic to all except for the mainboard. In a more layman’s term it is like building a desktop computer, you can replace component for most of the parts are plug and play.
Here is an example of a JAMMA harness
I bought this JAMMA Harness online, the seller is Mr. Victor Fry of 110 arcade games. If you have a plan to build your own arcade game using the “Just another Pandora’s box Multiboard” this is a very good harness for the button 4,5, and 6 are already wired.
This harness is like a pci slot of a computer on which on this slot you need to connect the main board and the wires that you see is connected to the other parts of the arcade like the monitor, speaker, coin slot, arcade button and joystick etc.
Here is the wire for the CGA monitor
Coin slot wire
In the succeeding days i will make a tutorial on how to build a arcade game…
