But still the main goal of Naruto is the same, to save Sasuke / Saske from Orochimaru. The story also focuses on the Akatsuki, a group of ninja who want to use the power of the Kyuubi (tailed demon). Naruto is a Jinchuurki (person that have a kyuubi sealed in their body) because of this the Akatsuki is after him.
