In the province it is common to see animal feeds vendors or Agricultural and Poultry supplier. As we all know animal feeds like swine, poultry, duck, quail, and fish is very in demand there.

So, how could we be a dealer of a feed company and how do we earn from the feeds?

In some big feed company they require a would be distributor to make a bond/collateral before they can sell their product. Also, the company will require you a certain minimum bags per month which you can only sale at a specified area. Example, they will give you the right to sell their feeds in San miguel Bulacan but you need to sell about 10,000 bags per month. 10, 000 is a huge volume but as a distributor you could then create your downline or dealer. Now, you’re dealer will be the one that will sell the product in a specified barangay. You could also give your dealer a target minimum volume per month.

How much do you earn?

It depends on how much discount the company will give you. Some will give a 60-100 pesos discount per bag and as a distributor you could then give your downline a 45-60 pesos discount per bag and you could also give a rebate of 5-10 pesos if the downline have surpass his/her target. Same is true for the distributor, if the distributor surpassed it’s target, the feed company will might give a rebate.

Feed dealership is a volume game. So, before you engage in this business be sure that there are many livestock raisers in your area.

If you don’t have millions in your pocket then i suggest be a dealer. If you have millions then go for distributionship. Although, there are some company that prefers distributors with small area of responsibility. And because your area is small you don’t have big quota and at the same time you don’t need big capital. In this situation, you don’t need to have a downline and usually you will only be required 100-1000 bags per month. This is applicable only if there is no distributor yet in your area.
